Hello, I need some help. I have already tried to send for pension records and such, with no luck. I have three family members that were in the NC Line, on only one of them do we know where he enlisted. Is it possible to know where or in what area a person may have lived by the unit they were in? I have sent to the National Archives with little or no success. I have one that was in the 4th Reg.-Col. Thos. Polk , Smiths Company and enlisted 12 Feb 1777. He was also on a list of Col Thomas Clark First North Carolina Batt. as being sick in camp, others on the list were listed as "Sick V. Forge" The other family member was in the 1st Reg- Col. Thos. Clark, Ely's Company D. 4 Apr 1778. Can anything be told by which unit they served?
