Searching for ANY information about LYON family in Orange County in the late 1700's. Robert LYON settles in Caswell County by the early 1780's, but may have been in the area before Caswell was established in 1777. He dies in Caswell in 1804, leaving grown children and two teenaged orphaned grandchildren living with him, Edmond and Elizabeth Lyon. Edmond marries widow Elizabeth Cheatwood Dennis and moves on to Overton Co, TN. I have lost track of his sister Elizabeth (Betsey). Robert's children include: Jane, married Nuam JOHNSTON Ann (Anna), married Nehemiah DANIEL Mary, married John MIDDLEBROOK William, married Martha (unknown) Robert, jr: spouse unknown John, spouse unknown. as well as the father of the orphaned grandchildren, whose name, along with his wife's, is unknown to me.
