Folks, Many of you have misunderstood a message that I sent this morning on the A.B. Markham Maps of Orange County, NC. Instead of replying to everyone that has written to me about "the book", I am sending one answer to the list. THIS IS NOT A BOOK but a huge rollup type map mailed in a tube. Mr A.B. Markham researched Orange County for over 20 years, he then drew up this map, included an index of surnames, and the years that those folks acquired the land, he then obtained a copyright on his work in 1972. There is a 1972 copyright on the maps, and they can not be bought or copied anywhere, except from Mrs Markham. Mr Markham also made a "Land Grant and Early Settler Map" for Wake County, NC. (also includes an index). A wonderful research aid for those of us who had Orange County or Wake County ancestors! Mrs A. B.
