    3. I have found a number of sources that indicate that the British forces marched through 'old' Orange County, NC, several times during the Revolutionary War years of 1780-81. I'm sure that influenced migration to and from the county in those years. I have not, however, been able to find if there was any military activity in the area during the War of 1812. Does anyone know of a source/s that would indicate if the British again 'tramped through' the counties that made up old Orange County during their march on Washington, D.C.??? Again, I would assume that danger, or the aftereffects of such a march, would have influenced migration - or at the very least, the quality of life for those in the northern counties of North Carolina. I appreciate your help, Jane ==== NCORANGE Mailing List ==== Larry Noah - lrnoah@bigfoot.com - Listowner - NCORANGE mailing list Orange Co, NC USGenWeb site is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncorange
