I have a copy of a 1778 land grant survey that was recorded in Orange county, but other than the description of hickory, poplar and white oak trees, there are no other physical identifiers except the comment that the land is bordered on one side by "the waters of Newhope". Does anyone recognize this physical description as a lake or river somewhere in NC? Larry J.
