Thanks to a kind member of this list and a look-up he did for me, I now think that this could be the right place. I am looking for any inf. on the MILES family. There was an Abraham or Abram MILES who owned property about the center of Caswell Co. in 1768. There was also a William MILES and William MILES, Jr. there at that time. If you have any idea how I could find the names of the children of these people, I would be very grateful. Margy <4miles@is.usmo.com>>> Hi Margy, I would check to see if there were wills left by the names that you listed; or estate papers. Sometimes estates were not settled until the youngest child became of age. Which means that if a young unborn baby came after the death of his father, you might have to look at estate papers at least twenty years away from the time of the death. Often the estate papers tell more that the wills as far as the heirs are concerned. I donot know where you are located, but my understanding is that the Church of Later Day Saints research centers all around the country can order microfilms of all of the wills that are in the Archives in Raleigh, North Carolina. These can be viewed in the center closest to where you live. John Fox Winston-Salem, NC
