I am watching with great interest the discussion on MOOREs and DIXONs. Does anyone have information on the following: John MOORE m. Jane SMITH (I'm not making this up!). They had a son, Samuel Lee MOORE, b. 1815 in KY or TN. In 1840 Samuel and wife Elizabeth DIXON were living in Jackson Co., TN, where the courthouse has since burned. Elizabeth, according to her death cert. was the daughter of Simon DIXON, no mother given. I do not believe this is of the famous Quaker Simon DIXONs. Samuel's parents' names also came from his death certificate; both he and Elizabeth died in Orange County,IN. Thanks for ANY help you can give with this line. It is stopped me and several cousins in our tracks.
