Letters of Attorney, a wonderful tool in genealogy research, often neglected. Valuable clues found in these tidbits of names that left our state for "the western waters". Sometimes the only proof that we find on those maiden names of our women, when no marriage record can be found. Letters of Attorney most often give her father's name.
