William Neeley arrived in Orange Co., NC in the 1750's. He settled along the North Fork of the Flat River, where it is assumed he remained until his death. William has a Nuncupative Will on file in the Caswell Co., NC Will Book. It's dated 12-29-1782 as dictated to John Womack & witnessed by William White, John Satterfield & James Masson Probated in March 1783. Williams Will is in the NC Archives in Raleigh Folio 235 pg 235 Thomas was a LT in the Revolutionary War with one of his brothers serving under him. Jacob & Joseph also served in the Revolutionary War. Their pension numbers are s7264 & 31879.there is a lic granted for Thomas as a Tavern Keeper 6/4/1778 & he entered 144 acres in Person Co., near his own place. This was part of Zachariah Lea's former entry [this is one reason to believe that his spous'e maiden name was LEA] 2.Samuel 1786 was member of the Flat River Bapt, Church.
