    2. Another lurker speaks up. Below are some of my brickwalls with Old Orange County connections> Alexander COHARON: Died in Orange 1776. Will shows name also as COHERN, COHORN. Signed 1771 Caswell Petition as CAUHORN or CANHORN. Married Esther ?. Issue: Mary m. Joseph JAY, John m. Mary SATTERFIELD, James m. Sarah BOWLS, Alexander Jr m. Hester ?STEDMAN, Samuel m. Mary Ann RICHARDSON, Jean, Izbell m. Jonathan CATES, (my) Ester m. James DOHERTY, Matthew. Alexander Sr.'s children used COTHRAN etc name. James DOHERTY (var.): m. Ester COHERN in Orange Apr 1790. Got 1790 grant on Buck Water Creek. Died in Orange in Sep 1815. Possible brother of Anthony DOHERTY Jr, who m. Mary McCOOL and went to Canada with her family c1794. Possibly son of Anthony Sr. who deeded James land in 1796. Issue of James/Ester: James m. Phoebe COLE, Ester m. Merriam COLE, Joseph, Anthony m. Mary ?, (my) William Anderson m. Elmira ALLEN, Samuel m. Mary ?DICKEY. William NORRIS Sr.: Died Person Co Dec 1834. Married Mary ?. May have come out of Northampton Co area. NORRIS and NORFLEET families were neighbors there and Nathaniel NORFLEET sold land to William Sr. next door to Wheelers Prim Bapt Church near Person/Caswell/Orange corner Jan 1834. Issue of William Sr/Mary: John m. Nancy POPE, (my) William Jr m. Sarah HAWKINS d/o Ephraim, Mary A. never m., Elizabeth never m., Mildred m. Thomas HAWKINS s/o Ephraim, Sally m. Lewis SARTIN.
