I am new to this list but what to make contact with anyone working on my line. > Johann Jacob Hofheintz settled on the Reedy Fork Creek, just west of the Guilford/Alamance Co line. He came in the 1770s, but I am not certain whether he arrived before or after the formation of Guilford from Orange and Randolph in 1772. I know that his land grant application was filed in 1778 and granted in 1784, but we know the political reasons for this delay. > Several of his sons bought land in what was Orange at that time (before Alamance). Two surnames were used: Huffhines and Huffines.
