Hello, hope this list proves "fruitful" for all. It is my understanding that my Stephen Medlock may have "come" from this area of NC and I suspect that David Johnson did also. Stephen Medlock, Sr. b. pre 1770's eventually settled in the area that is now Caldwell Co. - then old Burke. His wife's names was Hanah - last name unknown. His only known child, so far, is Stephen Jr. I do suspect that his other children may be William, Elizabeth, & Elijah. Other Medlock men in the area at the same time were: John, Nicholas Sr. & Jr., Charles & Henry and a bit later a Willy. I believe they are all related but don't quite know how. As for David Johnson, Sr. he was born around 1747 (based on pole tax records) m. Sarah unknown. Children: David, Jr., Samuel, Rebecca, Eliza, Hannah, Andrew & Jordan. The Medlock & Johnson families lived near each other, went to the same church and intermarried. These 2 lines are the "main" ones from my Grandfather Medlock that I am intensely research right now. Have loads of info. from 1800 on but can't get the generation back going yet. Any help is immensley appreciated. Gale Payne Nagy
