Looking for any information on Thomas and Hannah (BROCKMAN) BASTIN. They settled in the area near modern-day Pellham, Caswell County, NC, which is on the border of Caswell County and Rockingham County, sometime around the time Caswell County was formed from Orange County. Their son, Thomas BASTIN married an ATWELL. It is believed that Thomas and Hannah married in either Orange County, or perhaps across the state line in Pittsylvania County, VA. Long searches for marriage records from the mid to late 1700's for them have been fruitless. They were members of the Lick Fork Primitive Baptist church. Thomas (Sr.) died in Jan 1817; Hannah in Oct 1834. Thomas BASTIN, the son, born in 1783, migrated to Barren County, KY around 1830. He died in 1858. Have lots of information on descendants; looking for any information on possible parents of Thomas Bastin (the father), as well as ATWELL family information. Website on the descendants is located at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/9714/ and it includes over 2,200 individuals, and over 500 surnames. Related families include NUNN and BROCKMAN, also residents of Orange, and subsequently, either Caswell County or Person County after the split-off dates. Have quite a bit of information on them I can share.
