    1. Re: [NCORANGE] Germans of Orange & Alamance (Hurdle)
    2. Carl, I only have the name of one HURDLE. George Hurdle married Margaret Harden on February 28, 1828. Margaret was the daughter of John Harden,Sr. and Sarah (Sallie) Holt. They lived and died in Orange County, now Alamance, so George Hurdle would have lived in this area, too. Cornelia Holmes I have a marriage for bride Mary Adams and groom Henry Simpson, dated 7 Oct 1837, Orange County, with bondsman Jacob O. Hurdle, witness J Taylor. By chance, is this part of your "Adam" line? I have interests in the Adams, Simpson and Hurdle families of Orange County, particularly during the period 1800-1850. I have not been able to get very far with these names, and would appreciate hearing from anyone with information to share. My Samuel Simpson arrived in Orange County ca 1796, was a schoolmaster, Revolutionary War veteran, and I have a grerat deal of information about his immediate family, but need to go further. Henry may have been his grandson, but I can't prove it.... Carl Shumaker ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
