I am trying to identify a Sara C. Allen whose 1847 sampler was passed down to me from my Great-grandmother, Francis Hall Berry. It was removed from the home of William A. Hunley (1872-1936) and his wife Eugenia Noble Allen (1869-1937). Both are buried at Berry's Grove Baptist Church in Timberlake. Buried nearby is Sallie Allen (1878-1899), wife of Chas (not buried with her). William was the son of Sam Hunley & Mary Ann Berry. Eugenia was the daughter of Nelson Noble and Mary Allen. I presume there is some relationship between Sallie Allen, Mary Allen, and Sara C. Allen. I would like to establish the sampler-maker's identity and also determine what, if any, relationship there is between Sara and my Berry or other lines, which would make this artifact a family heirloom, not just an antique.
