Recently I have seen that there were NUNNs in Orange Co in the 1700s. My great-great-great-grandfather, William AKIN, married Polly NUNN in 1797. Her mother was Lucy (perhaps CLAYTON), widow of James (or possibly Dennis) NUNN. Does anyone know of this family? Tom ([email protected]) >> Hello Tom and list, There were Nunns in Orange County, NC, especially in the area which became Caswell County in 1774. Record of these Nunns can be found in a book, "Nunns of the South" by Alexander Nunn. One of my colateral ancestors, Marcey Rice was married to Francis Nunn IV 4 May 1774. They moved westward during their life to Williamson, Tennessee, after moving to South Carolina where at least 8 of their children were born. Best regards, John Fox Winston Salem, NC
