Early yesterday morning Mr. Jonathan Thompson died at St. Leo's in Greensboro, where he went some ten days before for treatment. His body was carried to Haw River yesterday and the funeral was conducted there this afternoon and the interment was in Linwood Cemetery of Graham. He is survived by six children. He was about 72 years of age. Mr. Thompson was a skilled mechanic and he had made his home at Haw River for a number of years. Recently he and his sons built a large machine shop and garage in Graham. Deceased was a highly esteemed and useful citizen and a good man. [end]
