Searching for clues about Duncan Gaines CAMERON who married Nancy WINTERS in Orange County on 5 May 1822. He was to have been born in Scotland about 1785 and she in North Carolina about 1800-1805. Her parents may've been the Wiley/Willie/William WINTERS, who was enumerated on the 1820 Orange County Census and found on later enumerations in Guilford County, and Winnie WINTERS, enumerated as a widow on the 1850 census of Guilford. Duncan was a tailor by trade and did well in the Cherokee Land Lottery of 1827. He and his family moved to Franklin Co., GA where they are found up until 1850. Any response appreciated.
