I haven't posted in awhile. I am searching for the parents of Green W. Southard born abt. 1811. He may have come from Orange County. A tree at ancestry.com suggests that but I've never been able to get any sort of proof from the person who posted the tree. If there are any Southard researchers or people with a Southard tie-in somewhere up their line please check their databases for this most elusive ancestor of mine. Any help or suggestions welcome. Green moved to Georgia by 1840 and was recorded in the 1840 census as Green Sutherland. All census records, probate, and death records after 1840 record him as Southard. We do not know what the W is for but he did have two sons with "W" names, William and Wesley. 1850 Census says he was born in VA 1860 and 1870 says he was born in NC Death certificate in 1875 does not record a birthplace. The man could not be more annoying! http://www.katscelticroots.com/fam00156.htm That is his page at my genealogy website. Thank you, Katherine Southard-Reece
