Sharon Roach at :froach598@juno.com >> Hi Sharon, I am not sure what Green you and your friend are discussing, but I thought I would give you a little Green data from my family. My William Green was born February 6, 1762 in Prince Edward County, Virginia, and the next information I have on him is when he was being drafted into the Hillsboro, Orange County, North Carolina Militia in 1779. As you can see my William Green would have been about 17 years old, at the time, and I have ASSUMED that he moved from VIrginia to Hillsboro with his parents. Several of us have been attempting to identify his parents, and have been researching all the Greens living in Orange County in the 1770s. Our best guess is that a John Green that is mentioned in several Orange County, NC land deeds is PROBABLY the father of my William Green. Hope this helps you. Let me know if I can provide any other information. Tom Green TBGreen3@aol.com

    3. I have a bunch of ancestors from Orange; Orange Alamance; and Orange Caswell. From Orange, I can help others with the Melton lineage. >From Orange Alamance, I need help! This is what I know for sure: my ggggrandmother was Nancy L. Bird (B 1822, Orange). Her father was James Bird; mother was Polly Vincent. James was the son of Richard Bird. I have no information on Polly Vincent. Might someone else out there? Thomas Bird first married Anna Browning. After her death, he married Nancy Hamilton. Thomas died in about 1835 and is buried in Cross Roads Cem. In the 1850 Census, my ggg grandmother, Nancy L. (Bird) Bradford and her two little children, Mary and William Bradford; are enumerated in the home of Nancy Bird, widow. Next line in the census is Murray Lambeth, Tailor. With him is enumerated James Bradford, "Student". James Bradford is the husband of Nancy L. Bird Bradford. He then died in 1851 and is buried next to Nancy (Hamilton) Bird in Cross Roads. She is next to Thomas. James Bradford's tombstone reads, "Our Jamey". Later in the 1850's, Nancy L. Bird Bradford married Murray Lambeth. Does anyone out there know the relationship of Nancy (Hamilton) Bird to Nancy L. Bird Bradford? Does anyone have information on the Lambeth family? Further, James Bradford was the son of David Bradford and Elizabeth Carregan, I believe. Is this David the son of William Bradford? Does anyone out there have the Bradford history? How about the Carregans? Your help is greatfully appreciated. Toni From: "Ken & Toni Pedersen" <kenped@glinda.oz.net> Dear Tony et al, Below is a very BAD outline of the BRADFORD line that I have been attempting to put together. I will appreciate anyone who has better data to revise my outline, or tell me to abolish it completely. I think that I have a possible Bradford line through my John King of northern Alamance County. I have not been able to see any document validating such, but two Bradfords were witnesses to John King's will. The Bradford name appears often in Orange County in connection with the King family, as well as, the Faucette family. Ruth Herndon Shield's Abstracts of Orange County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for December 1753, lists David Bradford recording a cattle mark and in 4 December 1756 David is named overseer of a road. Richard Bradford wrote a will in Granville County, North Carolina in 1757, which listed son, Richard son, John(under 21 at the time), brother Philip Bradford, wife Rachael,, daughter Sephirah Bradford, daughter, Elizabeth Bradford, daughter, Hannah Poe, and daughter Mary Bird. Thomas Bradford of Granville County listed a son, David, in his will of 1786. D. Bradford and Thomas Bradford are listed as witnesses of the will of John King 17 February 1797. A Nancy Bradford was the wife of Thomas Bird, son of James Bird of Caswell County; Elizabeth Bradford Walker was named in the will of Nancy B. Bird, as well as Margaret Bradford McOllogh. Another David Bradford listed his will 6 August 1856 in Alamance County, in which he listed 3 daughters and seven grandchildren. At least one son and one daughter must have pre-deceased him since he listed Bradford and McAdams grandchildren. 24 September 1755, a Thomas Bradford and Mary his wife of Northampton County, North Carolina deeded land to Thomas Bradford Junr. of Orange County, thirty pounds, 220 acres in Orange County on S side of Lick Creek, ........part of a tract granted Thomas Bradford by deed dated 25 March 1752; signed Thos.
