    2. Linda Allred Cooper
    3. Hi Elizabeth: I am also working on the Henderson line in old Orange County. I'd love to share/swap info with you. Right now I'm back to James Isaac Henderson (1700-1770) and wife Mary Rhodes Henderson (died bef 1770) who immigrated from Scotland possibly through the Port of Wilmington. Their son, Argaleus Hercules Henderson (1727-1806) was first found in Bladen County, then later moved up river to old Orange County, now Chatham County. We estimate his land to have been located near where HWY 87 crosses the Cane Creek in North Chatham (north of Brown's Chapel UMC today). Many of his descendants are still in Chatham today, including me. I have quite a bit on this family. Does any of it match your Henderson family? Linda

    3. Yes another descendant of the many Hendersons and Taylors that made their way from NC to TN. I'm stuck on William Vannah Taylor. William Vannah Taylor, born around 1780 to 1790 in Granville NC. Me married Francis McCoy Henderson, the daughter of Leonard Henderson (1772-1833) and Francis Farrar. The children of William Vannah Taylor and Francis McCoy Henderson were: Henry Skipwith Leonard Arthur Kennon James H.R. Lucy White William Vannah Francis Emily Nathaniel Richard H. Mary Emmet Henderson John Lane Julius Alexander Honestly, these poor women! Anyway, listed the names in case one of ya'll might recognize something familiar. I have the Henderson line well documented but am stuck on Taylor. Thanks Elizabeth Graham Chatterjee

Can anyone give me more >information on that church, so I can pass it on. >Thanks Mara > Mara and list, this is what little I have on Low's. Low's (Lau's) (Law's) Lutheran Church was formed in the 1760s to 1770s. In the early days they shared a meeting place with the German Reformed Church that was later known as The Brick Church. They used the building on alternating Sundays - all services were in German. Although they shared a common language and had little theological differences, the two groups would soon part. The Lutherans leaned towards the English crown while the German Reformed were in favor of independence. One Sunday in May of 1779 the German Reformed were locked out of the meeting place. The third structure of this church is of interest to me. It was built in 1889 by twin brothers who were carpenters. They were Haywood Michael Noah and Martin Franklin Noah. They are my first cousins 4 times removed with three different sets of ancestors. Both of their parents died prior to the twins 13th birthday. The twins went to live with their uncle Isaiah Noah (my ancestor). They helped build a house for Uncle Isaiah and apparently lived with him until they married in 1890 and 1895. The alter and lectern that they built at Low's is supposedly still standing in the church today. 1. Re: [NCORANGE-L] Will of James BIRD 1805
    2. Does anyone know who the MARY BIRD (mentioned in this will) married? My ancestor James Armstrong married a Mary (Mollie) Bird, and his eldest daughter married Alexander Mebane, Jr. Could this be the Mary he married? 1. [NCORANGE-L] BASTARDY BONDS
    2. MS LOUISE T OVERTON
    3. I will take this way to try and answer a question that was asked to the NC list about Bastardy Bonds. Bastardy Bonds are held in the N.C. Archives for all counties within our state. They are not indexed, but filed in fiberdex boxes by years, not surnames. I have been thinking very seriously about publishing the bonds for Orange County. It took me three complete weeks of eight hours per day to go thru all the bonds, I now feel like I know many of the Orange County women, many later married the father's of their children. At that time they were all lumped together in boxes, but in recent years have been separated and filed by years. To my knowledge the only NC Bastardy Bonds that have been published in book form is : North Carolina Bastardy Bonds by Betty J. and Edmund A. Camin. Cost of this book is $30.00 and covers the counties of: Alamance, Alexander, Alleghany, Anson, Ashe, Bertie, Brunswick, Buncomb, Burke, Bute, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Camden, Carteret, Caswell, Catawba, Chatham, Cherokee, Chowan, Clay, Cleveland, Craven, Cumberland, Granville, Moore, New Hanover, Rowan, Rutherford, Surry, and Wake Counties. Also several of the Genealogy Societies have published abstracts in some of their journals. Louise in Raleigh, NC

    3. Need information on any LASATER/LASSITER in Orange/Chatham County. I am descended from Burrell Lasater, b. 1771, in NC, who married Milly Beasley, in Chatham County, c. 1795. They have a son named Hardy Lasater, but don't appear to belong to the Hardy Lasater who was a Rev. War soldier. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brenda Schwall

    3. Need information on any WIMBERLY. Jacob and Lewis Wimberly were listed next door to Henry Beezley in 1779 on a list of people to lay out a road. Henry's son William Beasley and several Wimberly's moved on to Blount County, TN. I am trying to place my Linchfield Wimberly, b. c. 1798 in Blount County, TN, with Jacob's family probably. Lewis's family is fairly well documented. Linchfield, married Diadama Lasater, granddaughter of William Bealsey. Brenda Schwall
