    3. I Norwood, NC is in Stanley County. Sorry to admitt it, I have lived in this area for over 3 years and do not know of any existing historical or genealogical societies in the area. I am recovering from surgury so am unable to get out for another few days or I would check at our local library - which does have a very good genealocal room (that's in Albemarle). An alternative would be to write the Public Library in Albemarle, NC 28001 and inquire. Sorry I am unable to be of much help. 2. My grandparents lived beside the Peter Luter's in Roanoke Rapids (Halifax County, NC) from the early 1940's until Peter's death a few years ago. I belive this family is related to your Luter's. The son. Peter Luter, Jr. is about 66 and lives in Roanoke Rapids now. I will look in my files. 3. John, I would be interested in anything you have on the Wood family lines. I also have a family history site of my own for the Northampton and Hertford county area. www.jerrywoodfamily.org I will post any family lines from these two counties. Right now I mostly have "black" family lines but I am eager to get any and all family lines from these two counties. I also have birth, death, census and pictures to support these lines. I am a descendent of Frank Wood but I have a "White" line of James Wood posted also. I have many of wills associated with that line posted also. I also have listings and photos of 4 cemeteries associated my family lines but will post others also. Most of the family surnames I'm working with can be found on the web site.
