    3. Betty, Do you have any idea how large of a cemetery Cedarwood is? I am planning a research trip to Northampton County for later this week and expect to be there at least three days. If the cemetery is not too large, I would happily attempt to copy the markers. Or look for anyone.     3. I am trying to find out as much info as possible on William Coleson Norwood and his family as possible. He married Eliza LeGrand and they had 10 children. He came to TX leaving behind his family in NC. In the on the 1848 San Augustine Co. TX tax roll for the first time. He is in TX there after. He was born in NC and in the 1850 Census he is listed as 55 years old, Eliza is 43. Three children Amanda Maud, John L., and Laura E. are already married. I know about his life here in San Augustine Co. TX, what I want to know is who his parents are, his sybling, grandparents, and so forth. Can any one tell me who I can get in touch with?     2. Mildred, Call the Stanley County, NC Register of Deeds. She can tell you exactly what information you need and what to do to get it. I have found that the county Register of Deeds is a helpful resource instead of writing to the State of North Carolina. I sent my $1.00 for four requests that I made and the ones she couldn't find, she even sent back .25 attached to each of those requests.     3. Well, regardless - I shall be making a drive over that way next week. I know that I have seen various books on the deeds, etc. so they must have been gotten somewhere. I was hoping to get an address from whom I could order some of these books so that they would be at my use on a pernament basis. I am researching the Lewter families. Our family moved into the Northam[pton area sometime shortly before the American Revolutionary War. Various children of different generations moved west and south. Ken and Sally,.     3. John, there is a courthouse in Jackson, a lot of the records are lost due to a fire many years ago. Another source is the NC Archives Library in Raleigh. If you are a subscriber to Ancestry.com you can find a lot of info there also. A lady by the name of Margaret Hoffman has done a lot of abstract books on Northampton County and from the lady I took a class from here in Wake County, her information is very reliable. I am a member of the Britton family (Jesse Britton) who settled in Northampton County in the late 1700's.     3. Not a problem. I just do not remember there being a Norwood in Rockingham County. The one that I do know of is here in Stanley County, a few miles south of where I now live.
