    2. Hello Horace, I suspect that you have most of my information on the Peele family of Northampton and Bertie. If not I will be glad to share it with you. On my paternal side Milicent and Martha Peele are sisters. Their father, John J. Peele's parents are Robert Peele, Jr. and Judith Edwards, on to Robert Peele, Sr. On my maternal side Willie S. Peele (abt 1858- 25 June 1922) is my great grandmother. She was married to William Thomas Vick (abt 1853 to abt 1881). Her parents, according to her marriage certificate, were William H. Peele (d. bef 1860) and Sarah Rich. They were married 1 June 1857. I think his father was William H. Peele, Sr. son of Josiah Peele, Sr. and Milley Higgs, son of Joshua Peele and back to Robert Peele, Jr. above. Most of the Bertie Peeles and some of the others spelled the name Peelle as you know. My record of William H. Peelle (Jr.) above was spelled that way. I think I have used some of your data (and referenced your site). Got some of the Bertie or non Quaker data from Pete Austin. In other words, most of my Peele data of Peele ancestry is not from Primary sources once one goes beyond where Peeles enter my family tree. I'm think you have already done that and don't think I can improve it. Thank-you for your site, Al Ward

    2. Hello, I am also a descendant of John Norsworthy. His daughter Mary Norsworthy (1725-1802) married John J. Peele of Northampton. I would love to see a copy of John's will. I have an Isabell (Parker?) as his wife. Possibly Ann was his second wife if that is correct. The birthdate of you ancestor seems to suggest that she was not the first wife. Thanks, Al W.

    3. I was told that my great grandfather, William Herbert HUGHES, b 04 Jun 1817 NC, d 06 Nov 1896, Northampton, NC and first appeared in NC records on the 1850 US Census, Jackson, Northampton, NC, had a half-brother named John Wall. Spouse: Anna Florence DAVIS, b Aug 1947 NC, d 14 Mar 1901 NC Married 12 Mar 1867 Northampton, NC Both apparently were buried in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Northampton, NC as were most of their children and many grandchildren, but they are not documented on http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2183438&CScnty=1716&CSsr=41 Wm Herbert Hughes' parents have been identified in public family trees on Ancestry.com, without verification, as Thomas Hughes and Sarah Branch. I have not been able to find records on either of them. Handwritten on a pedigree sheet is the statement "Burl" father of WHH and the notation that he was a secretary of Aaron Burr, but again no documentation. WHH's census records state that he was born in North Carolina and both parents born in Virginia. The BRANCH line is supported by the fact that a granddaughter was named Janet Branch Hughes (Daughter of Philip Hughes). Did Sarah BRANCH Hughes perhaps remarry a John Wall after the death of Thomas Hughes or vice versa? Again, your guess is as good as mine. I am hoping to find someone - maybe a living descendant - who has some kind of information/ documentation.
