Bryant about his family. The title of the manuscript is "Contributions and History of Blacks in Nash County, North Carolina" Black Heritage: A Bicentennial Salute (1777 - 1977) It begins with Lawrence Bryant was born on August 21, 1857 to Benjamin Willis Bryant(caucasian) and Pattie Sessom on Dr. Issac Sessoms' Plantation. In 1870 he was living in the home of his grandparents, Bythel Bryant and Elizabeth Bryant (both caucasians). At that time he was reported as Lawrence Sessoms and was reared by his grandparents. On January 31, 1878 he married Miss Georgianna Harrison, the daughter of Allen Harrison, brickmason, and Margaret Hawkins. He lived in a log cabin on Bythel Bryants farm until 1886 at which time his grandfather, Bythel Bryant, died . In that year he became the overseer of Bynum Farm for Mr. T. P. Braswell and continued in that position until his death on August 13, 1912. If this Bryant man is in your family tree I will be glad to make copies of the information in this manuscript for the price of postage and copying. Please send me an email and I will get the information to you ASAP. The manuscript is mainly about the contributions and history of black in Nash County, NC but does have various information pertaining to the Bryant family. Elaine
