Avent, My grandmother, Willie Avent spent a number of years in Durham in the home of Dr. Boone. The Boone family saw that she was educated and she then went to Harnett Co. to teach. We don't know whether she was orphaned or illegitimate. But we do know that she never assumed the Boone name. I am unable to find out anything on that side of the family. We do know that she was a wonderful Christian lady and that her children adored her. We would love to give her a past and add to our family. She was born in the late 1800's. Had her first child about 1920. She married Wm. Clark Davis - a farmer and saw miller in Harnett Co. She died there in the early 1940's. If you can help me I would be so grateful.
