My mother told me that this was the first Baptist Church in Tarboro. The First Baptist Church of Tarboro was formed from this church. I have relatives who are buried in the cemetery at the Primitive Baptist Church in Tarboro, and I have visited the cemetery. I have never seen any gravesites of African Americans there. I never heard of any who attended the church.
