The deeds listed below have a connection to my ancestor, Henry Peed, who lived in Nash Co during this time frame. Apparently Henry Peed, Isaac Bass, Thomas Tucker, Stephen Young and others were adjoining landowners near the north side of Peachtree Creek. -- DB 3-207 State of NC grant to Stephen Young by Gov. Rd. Caswell, 10 Nov 1779, a tract of 329 acres on the north side of Peachcreek [Nash Co] adjoining Thomas Tucker, Isaac Bass, William Richardson, Henry Pede, and his own line. -- DB 1- 117 Stephen Young of Nash Co. to Henry Peed of same, 3 April 1780, for 100 pds. a tract of 164 acres on the north side of Peachtree Creek adjoining Henry Peed, Henry Braswell, and Isaac Bass, which land was granted to Stephen Young on 10 Nov 1779. Wit: Thomas Moriss, Mathew Mishan, and Preston Morris. -- DB 3-362 Stephen Young and wife, Dinah Young, of Nash Co. to John Pitty Cobb of same, 5 April 1783, for 80 pds. a tract of 200 acres adjoining Tucker, Isaac Bass, and Henry Peed. Wit: Ben Atkinson and David Pridgen. -- DB 1-398 John Petty Cobb of Nash Co to Isaac Bass of same, 20 Oct 1787, for 160 pds a tract of 200 acres adjoining Tucker, Isaac Bass, and Henry Peed. Wit: J. Gay, Harry Taylor, and William Boddie. Henry Peed's daughter, Mary Ann Peed, married Stephen Webb of Nash Co. The deeds that follow show Stephen also had a connection to Isaac Bass, Sion Bass, Abraham Bass, John Gay, John Webb and Lewis Webb. -- DB 1-308 Isaac Bass and wife, Ann Bass, of Nash Co. to Jesse Bass of same, 6 Oct 1783, for 60 pds. a tract of 350 acres on Peachtree Creek and Green's Branch. Wit: John Gay, Bennett Boddie, and Stephen Webb. -- DB 3-392 Peter Hedgepeth of Nash Co. to Stephen Webb of same 26 Feb 1785, for 50 pds. a tract of 200 acres adjoining Bass, Thomas Walker, and Passmore. Wit: John Gay, James Massingale, and Benja. Savedge. -- DB 1-375 Sion Bass to Stephen Webb, 5 Feb 1787, for 50 pds. a tract of 140 acres on the south side of the Tarborough Road adjoining Webb, John Passmore, and Sion Bass. Wit: James Connell and Benjamin Boon. -- DB 6-15 Stephen Webb and wife, Ann Web, of Nash Co, to Jeremiah Culpepper of same, 24 Sept 1792 for 25 pds Virginia money a tract of 100 acres adjoining John Pasmore. Wit: John Gay & Sion Bass. -- DB 6-78 Stephen Webb of Nash Co. to John Edwards of Franklin Co., 4 March 1793 for 85 pds. Virginia money a tract of 240 acres on both sides of the Tarborough River Adjoining Abraham Bass, Jesse Lawrence, John Webb, Jonah Johnson, John Pasmore, Jer. Culpepper, John Gay, and Sion Bass. Wit: Lewis Webb and Josiah Johnson. Are Isaac Bass, Sion Bass and Abraham Bass related? Are John Webb and Lewis Webb related? Have researchers found a relationship between them or their descendants?
