In Thomas' will he states after his wife, Lydia dies, for the estate to be sold and divided between his nephews; William BOTTOM, Samuel BOTTOM, and Malakiah MERRIMAN. It also lists Rene WALLACE, natural daughter of Catherine EDGE. Is this a niece of Thomas or Lydia? Jeremiah EDGE is one of the Exers of estate. The date of this will is March 28, 1793 and proved in May Court 1793. Per info I rec yesterday: At the time of Thomas' death the Longbottom (Bottom) nephews were living in Nash Co NC (which had been carved out of Edgecombe Co). Now in 1793, where was this Malakiah MERRIMAN? Thomas LONGBOTTOM (BOTTOM) came from Surry Co VA, where his father's will (William LONGBOTTOM) was written Feb 1733 and was in court July 18, 1733. Did Thomas have any sisters? There were none listed in his father's will. If contact can be made with the nephew's descendants....maybe they will know about Malakiah MERRIMAN??
