Hi list, I have just been looking at the Nash Co 1790 census for my ancestors, John and Rowland Ledbetter, and was wondering why the names in the census were listed under the letters of the last name ( all the L's together etc). Is there no way to tell who lived next to whom? Why weren't other counties done that way? I found 2 John Letbetters with the same #'s (22 spaces apart), Has anyone ever found his/her ancestor listed twice?
