Surnames: WILLIAMSON, NICHOLS Classification: Will Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VUB.2ACE/599 Message Board Post: Will of Joseph Williamson Nash County, North Carolina June 25, 1797 In the name of God Amen ~ June the 25th day in the year of our Lord 1797 ~ I Joseph Williamson Senr. of the County of Nash and State of North Carolina, being at this time in a low station of Health, but in my proper senses thanks be to God for it, therefore calling to mind the Estate and Mortality of my Body, & knowing that it appointed for all men once to die, I do constitute, make & ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say, principally, and first of all, after this Life is ended, I recomend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it, and my Body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian and decent like manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned, nothing doubting, but at the last & General Resurrection I shall receive the same, by the mighty Power of God And as to such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life, I dispose of in the following Manner~ I give to my son Joseph Williamson a parcel of Land joining on the No. E. side of the marsh Swamp whereon he now lives ~ I give to my Daughter Sarah Williamson one feather Bed and furniture ~~ I give to my Daughter Ann Williamson one feather Bed and furniture ~ I give to my son Thomas Williamson one feather Bed and furniture I give to my Daughter Penelope Williamson one feather Bed and furniture ~ I lend to my loving wife Ann Williamson, during her Life, the remainder of my Land whereon we now live, and after her decease, I give the same to my son Thomas Williamson ~~~ I also lend to my loving wife Ann Williamson one Negro man named Caesar, with the Residue of my House hold goods & furniture, with my Horses and Cattle and Stock of all kinds during her Life and after her Decease to be equally Divided among all my Children ~ I also make ordain and Constitute my Loving Wife Ann Williamson and my loving Son Hardy Williamson, my whole and Sole Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament ~ and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disanull all and every other former Testament, Will Legasy and Bequests and Executors by me, in any wise before this time named, and and Wills bequeathed, Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Day and year on the other side written ~~~ Joseph (his mark) Williamson (Seal) Signed, Sealed & Delivered By the said Jos. Williamson As his last Will and Testament, in the pre- sence of us ~~ J (?) Nichols X (signed) Joseph Williamson Jr. (signed) John Nichols Nash County} May Term 1797 The foregoing Will was duly proven in open Court by the Oath Oath of J.
