Surnames: MERCER, GARDNER, WILLIAMSON, DEANS, BOYKIN, BLOUNT Classification: Will Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VUB.2ACE/600 Message Board Post: Will of Eli Mercer Nash County, North Carolina June 1, 1832 In the Name of God Amen I Ely Mercer of the County of Nash and State of North Carolina being Weake in body But of Sound Mind and Memory blesed be god for his goodness towards Me do this first day of June in the year of our lord 1832 Make and ordain this My last Will and testament in Manner and form following that is to Say after My decease and being buried at the disgretion of My Executors and all of My Just Debtes is paid I leave all of My Worldly Estate to be disposed of in Manner following Item I give to My beloved Wife Marget Mercer one Bed bed sted and furniture one pine chist and pine table and one Womans Saddle I allso lend to My Wife Marget Mercer dearing of her lifetime or Widow hood one Maer and Colt two Calves & yearlings all of My Stock of hogs and sheep two (Dozens ?) plows two flock houses two plain frames two Axes one grubing hoe and two Weading hoes and one Bed and furniture one dosen sitting chirs two pots Boles and one Spider one greddle one dutch oven two Bread trays one Meal sifter one pine table one Walking Wheale and cards one linning Wheale and one half of the valuation of My land including the house and plantation dearing of her lifetime or Widow hood Item I give to My Daughter Nancy Mercer one Bed Bed Sted and furniture one pine chest to her and her ares forever Item I give and bequeath to my Son James Mercer one bed and furniture one Walnut table and one half of the valuation of My land lying at the North Eand of of said land to him and his ares forever Item I give to My Daughter Abba Mercer one fether bed and furniture one tea table to her and her heirs forever Item I give and bequeath to My Son Thomas Mercer one curtin Bed Sted and furniture allso one Half of the land agreeable to valuation including the plantation where on I Now live after the decease or Marrage of My Wife Marget to him and his heirs forever and allso one chaney press Item I leave My three Negros to be Sold Namly Benjaman Meriney and Marget on a credit of Nine Monts and one Still and the Money Arising from the sale of Said Negros and Still to be Eaqually Devided between Mary Gardner John Mercer Salley Williamson nancy Mercer and Abby Mercer – to them and their heirs forever Item I leave all of the property that I have tent to My Wife to be Sold at the deceas of Said Wife or Marrage and the Money arising from Such Sale to be Equilly Devided between My heirs – I allso leave all of the balance of My property that is Not before Willed away to Be Sold and after My just debts is paid out of the last Mentioned property if there is any Money left I leave it to be Eaqually Divided between My lawful heirs and I do here by Nominate and apoint My Worthy friends Isac Williamson and John Mercer My hole Soles Executors to this My last Will and testament in Witness Where of I have hereunto set My hand And Seal the day and year above written Sined Sealled and acknowledged in the presents of us (signed) Eli Mercer {Seal} (signed) Bartley Deans x (signed) Stephen Boykin x State of North Carolina Nash County Court of Pleas & quarter Sessions August Term 1832 The foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Eli Mercer was exhibited to the Court for probate and being duly proven by the Oath of the subscribing witnesses thereto it was ordered to be recorded.
