    1. [NCNASH-L] Re Edward Moore
    2. Hi Billie, I am also descended from Edward Moore of Nash thru his son William and wife Rahab (probably Strickland). Mark Strickland of Nash co lists a daughter Rahab Moore in his will. Wm. and Rahab's daughter Elizabeth named a son Mark Strickland Harris I had not heard of Edward's patriotism. Do tell all. I have some cites from court records on some of Edward's daughters choosing their mother as guardian. One reference to Edward as" little" Edward Moore. His will was put into court records by Edward Moore Sr. Have you seen an original of Edward's will? One source lists Edward Sr as a witness another says that it was James Moore, son Edward would have been to young. This Edward Sr. would be the Edward Moore that died in Nash 1785 wife Mary. This Edward d 1785 most likely is the one that is mentioned in records as being sheriff of Edgecombe and had connections to The Cain and Lee families. I have some information on Edward's children and descendants . I am eager to share and compare. Judy Welch

    2. Seek information on Edward MOORE, born about 1739 in North Carolina, died after October 1783, Nash County, NC. Wife was Elizabeth __?___ This Edward MOORE is shown to have been a Revolutionary Patriot, meaning he was not a soldier, but gave aid to the cause. I am a descendant of William MOORE, son of Edward and Elizabeth MOORE. William came to Alabama and settled in an area of Tuscaloosa County later named "Moore's Bridge" for this family. Is anyone on the list working on the Edward MOORE Billie in Alabama

I tried to check out the cemetery books by Tim Rackley at the Library of Va, but they were already checked out. I am interested in the family and church cemeteries. If anyone has any suggestions, I wanted to come down on Friday after Thanksgiving and make a day trip out of it. My families are centered around the Castalia area. I also need to know if anyone is familiar with Peachtree Baptist Church in Spring Hope, my greatgreat grandfather was the preacher, Robert Warren Delbridge, died 1870. 3. Am assisting in the research of Jesse Ricks, of Pike County, Alabama. We have hit a wall and seek info on the estate of John Ricks, of Nash County. He had a son, Jesse, and there is no public information out there as to the disposition of Jesse's portion of his father's estate. Has anyone copied the will and estate papers? Is there a researcher in Nash County who is familiar with the estate? I would like to review the will and and settlement papers regarding returns to the children. Jesse Ricks was a wealthy man at his death in 1834, and he had children named John, Delilah, Mary, and Elizabeth. Have published the history of Jesse's son John and descendants.
