I HAVE EVEN ORDERED HIS MILITARY RECORDS, BUT THEY DIDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING I DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW. SOME GOODMAN WOMEN MARRIED MASSENGALE MEN IN TENNESSEE IN THE EARLY 1800'S WHICH COULD BE A LEAD, BUT I HAVE JUST HIT A BRICK WALL. I THOUGHT SINCE GOODMAN & JACKEY'S DAUGHTER , JAMES ANNA, HAD SOME MANY CHILDREN THE FAMILY HISTORY MAY HAVE BEEN PASSED ON BETTER THAN THRU MY LINE WITH HER BROTHER, JAMES DAVID. JACKEY REMARRIED SEVERAL YEARS AFTER GOODMAN DEATH TO A MARTIN COGGINS AND HAD A LEAST TWO MORE CHILDREN. MARTIN WAS A MUCH OLDER MAN. HELP!

This is the only information I have about the Hicks side of my family. I am hoping someone can help me go further or get more information. My father is Ernest Jasper Hicks (multiple siblings)(buried at Seven Paths); my grandfather is James Washington? Hicks; my grandmother is Lula Murray Hicks (buried in Samaria cemetery); my great grandmother is Nancy Hicks. I have been told that my great grandfather is a Griffin, and the Griffin man died, never marrying Nancy Hicks (could be why no one wants to talk!); and that James Hicks is listed in the Griffin family bible and is buried in the Griffin family cemetery somewhere near where Finch's Orchard is located . I have never heard of any siblings of Nancy Hicks or if she ever married; nor have I ever heard of any siblings of James Hicks. My father was born Oct 29 1923 and died Jan 1985. I don't know dates for any one else! Much gratitude for any information.

Oh I imagine they are, but it is just that this list is specifically for Nash County, North Carolina, information. There are plenty of lists to post information about other counties, including Franklin as you mentioned. Smiles, Rocky Strickland

I am getting bombarded with viruses today. If you are going to open email attachments you aren't expecting, please remove me from your address book first. Our IT guys say that the only way you can get this virus is to open an email attachment. After it gets on your computer, it automatically sends itself to people in your address book. Please remove my email from your computer until this blows over and don't open attachments from anyone for a while. Thanks Mark A. Murphy
