I have information that Hester JOYNER (March 25, 1854 - September 27, 1935) was the daughter of Ira JOYNER and Lucy LAMM. Is this Lucy LAMM the daughter of Thomas LAMM and Aily BLIZZARD? I have her as Lucy N. LAMM, born in 1860. Hester JOYNER married Wiley PEARSON (June 17, 1848 - September 16, 1920), son of Barnaby B. PEARSON and Piety EATMON. Thanks in advance. G. We would like to invite you to re-visit our website, The POORHOUSE STORY (a clearinghouse for information about 19th century American poorhouses) at http://www.poorhousestory.com Please excuse the cross postings, but we just published poorhouse information about a great many counties in NORTH CAROLINA. Our partial list of counties known to have poorhouses includes: Beaufort/Buncombe/Burke/Cabarrus/Caswell/Cleveland/Craven/Cumberland/Davidso n/Duplin/Edgecombe/Granville/Guilford/Halifax/Iredell/Johnston/Lenoir/Lincol n/Mecklenburg/Montgomery/Moore/Nash/NewHanover/Northampton/Orange/Richmond/R ockingham/Rowan/ Rutherford/Stokes/Surry/Warren/Wayne Our list of counties for which the NC State Archives has poor relief and/or poorhouse records includes: Alexander/Ashe/Bertie/Beaufort/Buncombe/Carteret/Chatham/Cherokee/Cleveland/ Craven/Currituck/Davie/Edgecombe/Granville/Guilford/Hyde/Iredell/Lincoln/Mon tgomery/Nash/NewHanover/Northampton/Orange/Pasquotank/Perquimans/Person/Polk /Rowan/Rutherford/ Sampson/Stanley/Surry/Union/Wake/Wayne/Yadkin We have provided more historical notes from the archives on the page with their holdings listed. DIRECTIONS: At the homepage (link above) click on POORHOUSES BY STATE, then on NORTH CAROLINA on the table of states. If you will scroll down to the section on "Local Notes", you will find the poorhouse list; and then scrolling down to "Records", you will see the archives holdings list. These entries are marked with yellow NEW arrows. (NOTE: If you have visited the site recently, you may have to click on REFRESH on your browser to see the new information.) There are other pages on the site which may give you some interesting perspective on poorhouses. They are off the homepage and include: the HISTORY page and the LETTER TO GENEALOGISTS as well as FEATURED ARTICLES. There are great tips for researching poorhouse records for yourself on the RECORDS page; and you might want to subscribe to our (almost) monthly newletter (which you can do in the lower right corner of the homepage). The information on our site will only grow through the submissions of generous readers. If you would like to e-mail me ... please do so off-list because I cannot maintain subscriptions to as many lists as we post messages on. (You can use an e-mail link off one of our web pages.) We hope you enjoy the site! Thanks, Linda Crannell (aka=The Poorhouse Lady)

We don't have any actual church records or membership lists for that county, but we have church periodicals which could have obituaries in them if you wish to submit the names and dates of death, and wait for us to have the time to do lookups. Presumably written by the Wilson County historian, Hugh Johnston. However, your list of names is not specific and entails a lot of random looking for no useful purpose without specific dates and names. This list shows Willoughby Etheridge, received on April 16, 1803, received a letter of dismission on February 20, 1808. I saw no Vicks or Dentons. Faye
