An original North Carolina Supreme Court case that came before the Spring Circuit of 1821 states that Rowland Williams devise by his will his estate receipts between his son Pilgrim L Williams and his daughters, Diana, Charity, and Elizabeth, and the lawful begotten heirs of his daughter Priscilla Ricks [wife of Thomas who died in 1789]. The headline of his case shows Micajah Ricks and Milberry, his wife: Thomas and Teakle Ricks vs. Pilgrim L. Williams and Wilson Taylor, executors of Rowland Williams. Teakle and Thomas Ricks were orphans of Irwin Ricks, evidently the son of Micajah Ricks (probably Jr., who died between 1841-48) and his wife Milberry. Irwin died about 1816, and Micajah Ricks was guardian of Teakle and Thomas 1824-27. The guardian records also show returns from the estate of Martha Williams Source: Thomas P. Devereux, reporter, North Carolina Reports, 16 NC 3 (Raleigh: Mitchell Printing Co., State Printers, 1922), p. 11. Additional genealogical information is probably in the actual case papers, which should be at the North Carolina State Archives (NCSA), Raleigh. -- Donald M. Hello, I am tracing a Bullock family line with origins in and around the counties of Edgecombe and Wilson in North Carolina. Some of these lines migrated to AR while others remained in NC. I also have reason to believe that certain lines of the family may have migrated to VA. Below you will find some information on the first generation of the Bullocks I am researching. If these names appear in your family line or you've come across them in your research, I'd appreciate hearing from you. 1. Cromwell/Crumwell/Crumell BULLOCK was born Jun 1818 in North Carolina. Crumell married (1) Charity FARMER. They had the following children: + 2 M i. Nathaniel BULLOCK was born 1856. + 3 M ii. Cromwell/Crumwell/Crumell BULLOCK was born 1858. 4 F iii. There is usally also a _ in the header. I am told it is a harmless worm or whatever and will not delete your hard drive or do anything disastrous. However, it will attach itself to your emails. It is my impression that it derived from a family connection of one of them, since there is a strong Hilliard presence in Nash County. It is also my impression that Britton's name came from such a family connection. Does anyone have, or can anyone direct me to, any Hilliard and Britton genealogies?
