Sarah was dau. of Thomas & Elizabeth Whitfield. Thomas died Nash Co. NC , will dated May 21, 1798 - probate Nov. Ct. 1800. Sons were Willis, Mathew. Dau: Mary Willis, Sarah Bryant, Chloe Stoke, Nancy Massengill. Benjamin died Jackson Co., GA in 1796. Trying to find where they were between 1762 and 1796. Many thanks! Sheridan GA

Seems that the second Thomas could be son of the one on p. 224. I am descended from Sarah Bryant. Really don't know anything more about the Whitfields. Would be interested. Sheridan GA

    3. I'm new to the list researching my husband's HINES [given name Hartwell] ancestors in Marion/Fayette Cos. IL. 1850 census shows Hartwell HINES was b. in 1782 in NC. HINES surname Archives show a Hartwell Hines,Sr. who died ca 1825 in Nash Co NC. Exr of his will was James Hunter. I'd love to hear from anyone researching HINES in Nash Co NC or anywhere in NC> Thank you very much. Marie
