Hi List, I am looking for any info on the Warrens who were in Edgecombe/Nash CO NC from ca. 1775-1800....Seems there are only two families...A Thomas Warren and wife Sarah who leave just prior to 1790...Where did they go? Who are their kids? The other Warren was a John Warren wife Mary..John died 1781 a prisoner of war and sons believed to be Willis, Daniel, Henry..There is a John Jr. here, who's his father Thomas or John??? Henry Warren b. 1775 m. Charity Ethridge...Daniel Warren m. Elizabeth Hendricks and they were in Sumner Co Tn in 1806.....Dont know who Willis married...John Warren had a common law wife Courtney Lewis>who might be an Ethridge also.. No will has been found for the John Warren who died 1781..however it does appear that Daniel Warren has the same lands John Warren owned...It is believed that these Warrens came from Va....either Isle of Wright or possibly Norfolk Co Va... So would love to hear from anyone with any info on any of the above named. Thanks Cindy

Avent, My grandmother, Willie Avent spent a number of years in Durham in the home of Dr. Boone. The Boone family saw that she was educated and she then went to Harnett Co. to teach. We don't know whether she was orphaned or illegitimate. But we do know that she never assumed the Boone name. I am unable to find out anything on that side of the family. We do know that she was a wonderful Christian lady and that her children adored her. We would love to give her a past and add to our family. She was born in the late 1800's. Had her first child about 1920. She married Wm. Clark Davis - a farmer and saw miller in Harnett Co. She died there in the early 1940's. If you can help me I would be so grateful.
