According to information recently found, William CONNOWAY married Priscilla ETHERIDGE on March 12, 1832, in Nash County. This confirms an old Bible entry found listing their children as William L. CONWAY b. Aug. 28, 1833, James T. CONWAY b. April 14, 1836-my 3rd geat grandpa, Matthew R CONWAY b. Oct. 10, 1838, and Napoleon B.CONWAY b. Sept. 11, 1840. All born to William & Priscilla CONWAY. All born in Nash County, NC. I do know that Priscilla Etheridge Conway married James STEP in Gibson County, TN on Feb. 10, 1845. Do not know if William moved his family to TN prior to the end of his marriage to Priscilla or if he passed(?) in NC. Would like to know more about William and Priscilla, DOBs, parents, when the spelling of CONNOWAY was changed, etc.

Surnames: BOTTOM, BOTTOMS, LONGBOTTOM, WALLACE, EDGE, MERRIMAN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VUB.2ACE/647 Message Board Post: I am seeking info on the connection of Malekiah MERRIMAN to Thomas Long BOTTOM. In Thomas' will he states after his wife, Lydia dies, for the estate to be sold and divided between his nephews; William BOTTOM, Samuel BOTTOM, and Malakiah MERRIMAN. It also lists Rene WALLACE, natural daughter of Catherine EDGE. Is this a niece of Thomas or Lydia? Jeremiah EDGE is one of the Exers of estate. The date of this will is March 28, 1793 and proved in May Court 1793. Per info I rec yesterday: At the time of Thomas' death the Longbottom (Bottom) nephews were living in Nash Co NC (which had been carved out of Edgecombe Co). Now in 1793, where was this Malakiah MERRIMAN? Thomas LONGBOTTOM (BOTTOM) came from Surry Co VA, where his father's will (William LONGBOTTOM) was written Feb 1733 and was in court July 18, 1733. Did Thomas have any sisters? There were none listed in his father's will. If contact can be made with the nephew's descendants....maybe they will know about Malakiah MERRIMAN?? Appreciate help on the whereabouts and identity of Malakiah MERRIMAN in 1793. Also his parentage. Regards, Lois Carmack

    3. This is from "The Descendants of Jonas Ricks" by Donald Milton Ricks published 1998. Thomas Ricks, born about 1750, died 13 September 1789 per his nuncupative will record showing Abraham Ricks and father-in-law Rowland Williams, executors. Wife Priscilla Williams. Priscilla's father, Rowland Williams, was guardian of her son, (a) Alexander Urban Ricks and (b) Milberry Ricks. Priscilla married (2) George Grissel or Griswald, by 1794. An original North Carolina Supreme Court case that came before the Spring Circuit of 1821 states that Rowland Williams devise by his will his estate receipts between his son Pilgrim L. Williams and his daughters, Diana, Charity, and Elizabeth, and the lawful begotten heirs of his daughter Priscilla. The headline of his case shows Micajah Ricks and Milberry, his wife: Thomas and Tealke Ricks vs. Pilgrim L. Williams and Wilson Taylor, executors of Rowland Williams. Tealke and Thomas Ricks were orphans of Irwin Ricks, evidently the son of Micajah Ricks (probably Jr., who died between 1841 - 48) and his wife Milberry. Irwin died about 1816 and Micajah Ricks was guardian of Teakle and Thomas 1824-27. The guardian records also show returns from the estate of Martha Williams. Thomas Ricks married Sally Taylor 26 June 1832. Thomas was the son of Benjamin Ricks and Patience Helty. e.proefke@verizon.net wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VUB.2ACE/645 > > Message Board Post: > > I am researching George Henderson Ricks,b Dec. 13,1831 in Nash Co.
