    2. Kay Bachmann
    3. My ancestor Matthew Kitching entered land on Pissimon Branch before 1785, and around the same time he entered land on Heard's Creek and Governor's Creek. A Kinchen Kitchen, relationship to Matthew, if any, unknown, was an early land owner in Moore County, acquiring land by at least 1781. This reference to him appears in A History of Moore County, p. 94: "The first court [of newly formed Moore County] was held [Monday, August 16, 1784] at the dwelling on Kenchion Kitchen. This house, according to Mr. R.E. Wicker, was located about two and a half miles northwest of preset day Cameron, on the southeast side of Herd's Creek and on what was variously known as the "Chair," Cheraw, Seals, and Pee Dee Road." Also owning land nearby was a William Kitchen. I have some additional information of these individuals. Any listers with Kitchen connections? Kay
