Hi Cathy: So glad you asked! Overlap is often part of the Heritage Book process. We simply print each article and photo as submitted (presuming they are within the guidelines in our brochure). The only exception would be two Pioneer Families (1840 or before) with two identical photos. We just purge the extra picture. The really neat thing about duplicate stories about the same person is that the descendants have a different perspective, and the stories will reflect that. So go for it! Submit your McKenzie-Fry article! If we receive others, they will also be printed. The title "Heritage" is the operative word here. Not History, but Heritage. This opens the door even wider...to include folklore, family tradition, and humor. Wish you could have been at our July meeting when Lacy Garner shared his story; "Reuben's First Ride". The date was 1914, and Bryant Reynolds had just taken delivery of his new Model-T Ford. Bryant and friend Dink Caviness invited Reuben Maness to ride with them to Carthage. Without spoiling the plot, let's just say the Model-T and an old gray mule collided! Quite an experience for all! The only casualty was the mule, but "settling the damage claim" proved quite an ordeal! Those within driving distance should join us on Aug. 19, 6:30 PM at Golden Corral in Aberdeen. If you can't. One point of history on Kenneth is that he served in the War of 1812. Their daughter Margaret McKENZIE married Michael BRYANT, son of Michael BRYANT and Leah GRAHAM, who daughter of Robert GRAHAM. They all have history in Moore County early 1800(ish). This family is related to the BRYANT house. I know that Joan Handley did a wonderful job of research on Robert GRAHAM and his children and I have emailed her (but the email bounced back), to find out if she plans to submit these related families to the Moore County Book. Then I started to think about some of the early names that mine connect to. The names I have are: McKENZIE, FRY, GRAHAM, BRYANT, AUTRY A question to the committee that is collecting the information...What if stories are sent on the same families by different people? How do you choose what to print? Just a thought. Thanks for your reply, Cathy Hart Farris
