    1. [NCMOORE] COUNTY SEAT OF MOORE CO.?
    2. Steve and Judy Sanders
    3. Could someone tell me the county seat of Moore County, North Carolina? Also, I plan to visit Moore Co. in the future and I would like to know what libraries or archives I can visit. I have seen where there is a Moore Co. Library in Carthage and I assume Carthage is the county seat. I have seen references to Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Southern Pines. Would these be in Moore Co. and if so, would they have libraries? Thanks for any information on good places to research. Also, would there be a Historical or Genealogical Society established in Moore Co. If so, could someone tell me about that? Judy Sanders

    3. Judy, Yes, there is a library in Carthage, the county seat of Moore County. There is also a good library in Sanford, which is in neighboring Lee County; but Lee County was formerly part of Moore County. I believe their are libraries in Pinehurst, Aberdeen and Southern Pines, which are all in the southern part of the county, and as you are probably aware, big golf country! 2. Bob Carter
    3. Am interested in obtaining ancestral information from any WHITAKER lines in Moore County that came from Surry County and descended from William WHITAKER and Jonathan WHITAKER I. I'm not a publisher lookign for free information, just a collector since I am descended from that Surry County line. Will be glad to share what information I have as well. Other than WHITAKER, my lines in Surry County include PATTERSON, LOGAN, RING, HOWARD, CRISSMAN, FULK, REDMAN. Bob Carter Greensboro, NC
