    3. >Dear List, I sent this info yesterday and forgot to add the data at the end of the paragraph. Maybe someone else is working on my lines from Moore Co? If anyone knows any tip or lead I would appreciate hearing from you before this Friday...thanks Cathy Hart Farris cfarris@pacific.net >My ancestors Kenneth McKENZIE married Elizabeth FRY in Carthage, Moore Co >1822. 1822 They were married 2 miles from Carthage in Moore Co NC on 10 Oct 1822 by John Wadsworth, Justice of the Peace. as worded by Elizabeth in Widow Pension Claim. There appeared to be two Fry families settled in Moore in 1790=Joseph and Thomas. Joseph bought 300 a enterd by Francis Stribbling, on Killet's Creek, west of Hill Crest, and also entered and purchased addional adj land. It is said he and his family are buried on this land. Thomas Fry made an entry dated May 15th 1787 on the waters of Herd's Creek adj the land where the old store stood. this land also adj the Siler lnad, and it may be that Siler (who was in the land before Fry) operated this store. the late John McQueen, who for a time lived nearby, pointed out a spot which he recalled as being called "the old store place." This was near what was called until a few years ago, Stone's Crossing, on the old Carthage Railroad. The present road from Union Church, by way of the Carolina Power & Light substation at the crossing of route 27, and leading into 15-501 at fisher's Filling Stat, passes near the supposed store site. Thomas Fry seems to have left Moore, or died, pretty early. His son Locker Fry cont to live on the place, and is buried on the land his father entered. His wife was a sister of Jesse Bean of Bean's Bridge. His tomb bears the following inscription,"Here Lieth Lokker Fry, placed here at his request for he said "there is no communion with the soul". The little cemetery is walled with brick, and is located abt half way from Stone's Crossing and Herd's Creek. Lokker had one daughter, Annette, who, it is said, married Anthony Graham . It appears that the many Fry's in Moore at this time, are descendents of Joseph 1850 McNairy Co TN Fourth Dist., Census 28th Oct 1850 Household 1151 Colin McKINZIE 27 Farmer NC Daniel McKINZIE 22 Farmer TN Elizabeth McKINZIE 51 300ac NC Some of the names on the same page are Jane EDWARDS 75 350ac NC Allen WADE 44 Elizabeth McINTYRE 63 400ac NC William McINTYRE 25 Farmer NC Nathan BARETT 69 Farmer 400ac NC Jackson BARETT 30 Farmer 252ac NC D.R.BRYANT 30 Bpt Chergyman 400ac NC William CASON 45 Farmer 3000ac SC Thomas BRYANT 59 farmer 2000ac NC >I am planning a trip in January and would like to see this area.
