Sheriffs from 1784-1846 are listed in Appendix J of the book "Moore County, North Carolina, 1747-1847. In reading the Pleas and Quarter Sessions it has the following: (pg 7 26 Apr 1847) Jacob C Stutts to George Hunsucker, Danl McNeill and George Davis school committee acknowledged (pg 52; 27 Jul 1847) The following persons were appointed as a board of Superintendents of Common Schools for the insuing year, by the members of the previous Board to wit Muster District No 1 John McNeill Esqr District No 2 Blank District No 3 William Barrott Esq District No 4 Blank District No 5 Winship Bryan District No 6 Daniel McDonald, Junr District No 7 John B Black Esq District No 8 Blank District No 9 Abram Stuts Esq Carthage Thomas B Tyson There is nothing in the 1823, 1824, 1825 court records and I haven't gone through the other years.
