    1. Re: [NCMOORE] RE: McLeod's on 1810 census?
    2. I am also tracing McLeod's. I know for sure that Mary Jane McLeod b 31 may 1835 d 15 May 1913 m 12 Apr 1855 Peter Paisley Smith and they lived in Wakulla, NC now Robeson Co. Her father was Daniel Mcleod b ca 1802 and he had a sister, Sarah. I think Daniel m Catherine Katie McInnis and they had two daughters, Mary Jane (above) and Margaret Ann who m Col. Robert M. Fields from VA. I think Daniel McLeod's parents were John McLeod b 3/15/1772 Scotland & Mary mcInnis b 1778. Someone also told me that John's parents were John McLeod b ca 1755 d ca 1822 m 1788 Catherine Fletcher b ca 1765 d ca 1850 & their children were Malcolm, Neil, Marran, Mary, John, Charles, Eliz., Nancy, James. Perhaps John, the younger, was a brother to Alexander McLeod, but I'm hoping for help. 3. Hi Beverly, Nice to see some other McLeod hunters! I'm sorry but none of these names look familiar to me! My Alexander and Margaret's children were: Alexander Jr. William Sarah Nancy Angus Norman Murdock There may have been a couple of others. The first child was born in 1811 in N.C., and they left N.C. sometime around 1818, or a little there after, and went to Ga., they were in Monroe Co., and then it became Pike Co. Alexander Sr., died in 1854 in Pike Co. Ga. Most of this group eventually went to Alabama. My Nancy McLeod, married O.H.R. or Owen N.K. Carden in 1843 in Pike Co. Ga. I have been unable to determine where in N.C., my Alexander McLeod was located, but I know he was there in 1810, and this census does list three Alexander McLeod's, so I was hoping maybe one of them was mine.
