Hi Ann and all Moore County friends: Our May 20 meeting was well attended and very productive. We thank everyone! Next meeting will be on June 17 (we'll probably change location, just a few blocks down the street...stay tuned) Brochures will soon be printed and widely distributed. However, ye olde WWW is the best place to quickly find information. Just click on: http://www.nccountyheritage.com/mooreco.html Even, though it is in the embryonic stages, you'll find a wealth of information there. Now to your specific questions. 1. Sounds like a pre-1840 Pioneer to us! Thus giving you 500 words and a picture. 2. 500 words and one picture (per household) are free. Additional words are @10 cents. However, you may be OK. Look at this link: http://www.nccountyheritage.com/mooreco_order.html You may be able to submit a "modern" article by meeting the 3 fold criteria, found in Roman numeral I at the link above; a) you reside in, b) you used to reside in, and c) you have roots in Moore County. This gives you 500 words and a free picture per household! If you have siblings, children, cousins, etc., they are each entitled to 500 words and a picture, free! Example; if you have 6 children, they each have 500 words and a picture. You would have 500 words and a picture (modern) and a Pioneer article of 500 words and a picture. Altogether; 4,000 words and 8 pictures! Since the articles are alphabetical, you may determine the placement by titling the stories Hunt-Kahn or Kahn-Hunt. Your choice. Email any further questions to; MooreCoBook@Yahoo.com Thanks, Don and Becky Mills ----- Original Message ----- From: "A.J.Kahn" To: "Don & Becky Mills" Sent: Thursday, May 20, 2004 8:52 AM Subject: Re: Deadline for Moore Co., NC Heritage and other questions Hi, I have two questions : 1. My relative was in Moore(Lee) by the 1800 census, living out at Hunt's Springs. Is he acceptable as a Pioneer and 2. May the free Pioneer article be more than 500 words? Thanks, Ann HUNT Kahn
