Hello! First, thanks for so many emails and questions. Our health doesn't allow us to answer each one individually. Sorry. Here is a synopsis: The public deadline for submission of stories, pictures, etc. for the new Moore Co., NC Heritage book is Sept. 30, 2004. We simply asked the early attendees to submit their stories and pictures early, so we could build a brochure. If you are within driving distance, the best way to have your questions answered is to come to a meeting. Our next one will be Thursday, May 20th in So. Pines. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM, our meeting begins at 7:30 PM at the Sagebrush Steakhouse on US Route One, Southern Pines. We will be bringing rough drafts of the brochure for everyone to proofread. Then we will be able to print and widely distribute these very informative fliers! They tell who, what, when, where, and even why! For now, we'd suggest you click on: http://home.earthlink.net/~srapa/index.htm Scroll down to where the feet are running, and immediately below, you'll find a wealth of information. The only difference in the Cleveland Book and Moore Co. Book is the definition of a Pioneer. In Moore County it's 1840. As most of our other County Heritage groups have done, you simply delegate the submission of stories to siblings, children, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. If they have households (which) a) reside in Moore County b) used to reside in Moore County c) have roots in Moore County These households are EACH entitled to 500 free words and a free picture! We simply must have a living breathing household to sponsor (submit) each article. There may be a different researcher or writer (and you can also include an address for that person). Stories may be brought to our May 20 meeting of the Book committee or, you may mail them to: Moore Co. Heritage, PO Box 3151, Pinehurst, NC 28374-3151. Sorry, no email submissions. Make a floppy or CD of your story and picture and mail it to this address! Thanks to all for being so patient with us! We are really excited about the new Moore County Heritage - NC - 2005 ! Come join us as we "save our Moore County heritage!" There is a special email address for questions; MooreCoBook@Yahoo.com Thanks to all! Don and Becky Mills
