To Phillip and others: Here is the link that I put up on the Moore Co. page that might answer your questions about the book. Or, at least will give you an address (for Don & Becky Mills) to write to, if it doesn't. Hello to all our Moore County friends! Thanks for your patience. With a broken back, we are somewhat limited at the moment, but will be up to full speed in a few weeks. A brochure has been designed, and a rough preliminary web site is up. As soon as those are finalized, we'll give you that Moore Co. Heritage Book website URL. For now, take a peek at the Cleveland Co., NC Vol. 2 website: http://home.earthlink.net/~srapa/index.htm please scroll down to the moving footprints, and just below those, you will see the general guidelines for submissions. The only major difference is the Pioneer date for Moore County is 1840 and not 1860! If you have a Moore Co. Pioneer ancestor, you are entitled to another 500 words and free photo (limit one per household). As most of our groups have done, you will be able to delegate the submission of stories to siblings, children, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. If they have households (which) a) reside in Moore County b) used to reside in Moore County c) has roots in Moore County These households are EACH entitled to 500 free words and a free picture! We simply must have a living breathing household to sponsor (submit) each article. There may be a different researcher or writer (and you can also include an address for that person). Stories may be brought to a meeting of the Book committee (below) Or, you may mail them to; Moore Co. Heritage, PO Box 3151, Pinehurst, NC 28374-3151. A final note. If you are within driving distance of Southern Pines, we look forward to seeing you on Thursday, May 20, 6:30 (for dinner) at Sagebrush Steakhouse (Route 1), Southern Pines. Our Book Meeting will begin at 7:30 PM. We will have rough draft copies of the brochure at the meeting! The real deal will be printed shortly thereafter. Thanks for your interest!
