Yep, I've seen it there. It, and many other Moore Co books are available there. One of the best is the "Carolina Scots" by the David? & Caroline Kelly. The bookstore may not have it, but as my book list is old, it wouldn't hurt to ask. To see the lists go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncmoore/books.html the address for the book store is: The County Bookshop 140 NW Broad Street Southern Pines, NC 28387 910/692-3211 or contact the Historical Soc. at: moorehistory@connectnc.net O.K.? 3. Hi Beverly, Nice to see some other McLeod hunters! I'm sorry but none of these names look familiar to me! My Alexander and Margaret's children were: Alexander Jr. William Sarah Nancy Angus Norman Murdock There may have been a couple of others. The first child was born in 1811 in N.C., and they left N.C. sometime around 1818, or a little there after, and went to Ga., they were in Monroe Co., and then it became Pike Co. Alexander Sr., died in 1854 in Pike Co. Ga. Most of this group eventually went to Alabama. My Nancy McLeod, married O.H.R. or Owen N.K. Carden in 1843 in Pike Co. Ga. I have been unable to determine where in N.C., my Alexander McLeod was located, but I know he was there in 1810, and this census does list three Alexander McLeod's, so I was hoping maybe one of them was mine.
