Tom, This is the first time I've heard mention of a Moore County Heritage Book. Please let me know the details. I will have contributions for the book. You may e-mail me at my address: R326McD@aol.com. Many thanks. Rebecca
I am trying to locate a cousin or two from Pine Bluff, NC. They are Claudia Mae (Mrs. John) Carpenter and or her brother Richard Williams. If anyone has an email, phone or address I would appreciate it.
Just needed to know about rules for pioneer articles for the new Moore Co., NC Heritage - 2005. We're presuming this will be like the Anson, Bladen, Rockingham, Scotland and Stanly County books; complete with pioneers and modern articles. We're pumped about the meeting next Thursday, but want to have some stories ready (for our incentive award). Can anyone help? Thanks, Connie ____________________________________________________________ Find what you are looking for with the Lycos Yellow Pages http://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default.asp?SRC=lycos10
Yep - take a look at this one - http://www.doc.state.nc.us/DOP/prisons/mccain.htm The tomb lost its hold in the garden. The tomb lost its hold on the garden. The tomb lost its hold.
Thanks Gaye. I clicked onto the site you mentioned and according to that website, McCain Hospital and Morrison Correctional Institute are 2 separate buildings in different places. Am I right? Sherry

Thank you everyone for being so helpful. I appreciate all the info given me on the old McCain Hospital. If anyone else has anything different to add, I'm all ears! I asked around and found out that the correctional facility is today called Cameron Morrison. If this info isn't right, someone let me know. Thanks again, Sherry
You may already have gotten a reply to this,,,, McCain never did close. It just morphed into something else. It is now a correctional facility. A hospital for inmates. I had a cousin who was a nurse there when it was a T.B. hospital, and I had a sister who worked there when it was a Correctional Institute. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Inmansi@aol.com> To: <NCMOORE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 4:17 PM Subject: Re: [NCMOORE] Old abandoned Nursing home in Aberdeen(moore county) > Thanks Shelby. Wow! I believe I same some old photos of the McCain Hospital. Might these be included in the new Moore Co. Heritage book? Based on other similar publications, there are old photos and even topics such as medical history, etc. When is the meeting of the book committee? Anyone have some feedback on that?
